Frequently Asked Questions

How do I schedule and appointment?

It’s simple. Just call 704-756-0339 or e-mail and ask to schedule an appointment with Danelle Holbrook, LPC. Sessions are by appointment only.

How long are the sessions?

Sessions are generally 1 hour, however they can be shortened or lengthened depending on your budget, the current schedule and on the intensity of your symptoms. Appointment slots fill quickly. Make sure that you plan accordingly.

What can I expect in a session?

We begin with a confidential discussion of priority goals and problem areas in your life. We assess interferences to your goals and discuss reasons for certain problems. With your consent, we use muscle testing if needed to clarify any missing pieces.

We then proceed with the modality that will treat the problem/(s) or the modality that you specifically request. I usually recommend a combination of modalities to treat different aspects of your problems.

Each session may be different depending on what your needs and goals are at the time. We end the session with time to speak or write learning/(s) in order to integrate your experience. Therapy and self care work is assigned to continue effectiveness of treatment.

What are the costs of the sessions?

A 1 hour session is $75.00. A 15-minute consultation is $15.00. Any consultation less than 10 minutes is free. For more information click on Costs.

Do you take insurance?

Some insurance companies will reimburse a portion of the costs. You may call them to find out how much they will pay. Our policy is for you to pay upfront then apply for reimbursement. Please click on our Costs page to learn more about how this is done.

How often do I need to come in?

Generally to begin, clients like to come in every two-three weeks. This helps them integrate and practice what they have learned.

If a problem is intense, it is sometimes helpful to meet more often until symptoms subside and tools are learned to empower you.

The goal is to decrease visits gradually and empower clients so they can handle problems with the new tools learned.

Some clients need or want just one visit or class. Some clients want many visits and others will want visits only as things come up for them. Once a month or quarter is generally a preferred maintenance plan. We discuss your needs and wants each visit.

Can I schedule a phone session?

Yes, sessions can be done periodically over the phone after the first visit. It is a great way to save gas money and travel time. In some cases such as couple counseling, phone sessions are not recommended. A phone consultation is good when you need a little help in between appointments. Insurance companies often do not pay for phone appointments.
